Fuck I love music so bad.  This week more than ever, escaping our harsh reality of everything happening in the world right now seems harder and harder with each passing tragedy.  Sending my love out to all the lives lost, everyone still recovering in the hospital, all the responders and anyone else affected by the Las Vegas shooting.  We need love and change more than ever.  Keep an eye out on upcoming posts about how you can help with gun law reform, donations and other resources to help.  I hope this playlist can help you escape and find solace in your day, even if just for 24 songs.

Kings and Queens is available everywhere on the internet.  I got the divine pleasure of having queen Lauren Chavez on this track.

When you live in a city like Los Angeles, you find that everyone seems to believe they are a king or a queen whether they are worthy of that title or not.  I wanted to celebrate love and all kinds of love.  Love conquers above all.

If kings and kings wanna love each other can’t we celebrate that?  The queens with the queens.  The kings and the queens.  In a time in our world when we need love the most, this record is about uniting as one kingdom, our own chosen kingdom where love lives with no labels or limits.

I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed writing it.  Performing it is even more iconic.

Brian Stewart of Obvious Magazine converses with Jesse Montana about his rise to stardom as an artist.

After arriving in Los Angeles to pursue a career in music, Jesse Montana found himself on both sides of the Hollywood’s red carpet–first as a celebrity stylist and then a reality TV star himself. If there was any indication that he was destined to be successful, it’s his work ethic–coupled with his passion and creativity–that fuels him as a stylist, actor, and singer.

Before Jesse began working as a celebrity stylist in Beverly Hills Meche Salon–styling clients like Paris Hilton, girl band GRL, Katie Stevens, Jessica Alba, Julia Lewis Dreyfus, Chrissy Teigen, and Scheana Maria Shay from BRAVO’s hit reality series Vanderpump Rules–he was chasing a music career.  After recognizing music was his passion at the age of 15–after learning how to play the guitar and writing his first song “Love Me Back”–Jesse was hooked“…I was scouted by a manager in high school and came out to California for a summer to be in a boyband called Diverse. After the group disbanded, I turned to social media [which] was an amazing launching point for me.”

Staying true to his gift, he covered songs that landed him in the company of various influential people helped him book his first gig and write his first song off of his EP, “Drunk On You” which was produced by Grammy award-winning producer, Infinity.  As they say, the rest is history, or as Jesse’s says “That was kind where everything started to blow up.”

Brian Stewart: What brought you to LA?

Jesse Montana: When I was younger, I always dreamed of living in dreamy California so that I could pursue music in Los Angeles. Along the way, I ended up going to school and getting a cosmetology license to become a stylist because I was thrown into a very high-end styling world when I was in Seattle that showed me the many ways I could make a life for myself if music never worked out. Thankfully enough, I landed the best job possible as a celebrity stylist at the world-renowned Meche Salon in Beverly Hills. I worked there a couple of days a week which gave me time throughout the week to tour and make music. I wouldn’t’ had it any other way. I felt so blessed.

BS: What’s the story behind your name “Jesse Montana”? is it that your real name?

JM: Currently I am California living, but I will forever be Montana born and raised. I got so lucky growing up in such a beautiful city like Missoula. It was small enough where you knew everybody, yet big, progressive and special enough to give me the humble and broad beginnings that paved the way for who I am today. I love the big sky country state so much. My name is an homage to my hometown love.

Such an interesting journey the heart will take from falling in love, to heartbreak, to falling out of love, to the recovery, to your chapters of independence and solitude, and then that moment when you feel you are ready to be vulnerable again. This year has been such a whirlwind, and I’ve had such amazing experiences with some of the most amazing people. Collaborating with different brands and artists has added so much more to the journey. Reflecting on the music I’ve been able to write, perform and release this year, I’ve never been more excited to release and share that journey with my debut EP this January. We all handle this journey differently, how did you handle yours? Through art? Through music? Through fitness? I am thankful for my LA life, it gives me so many layers of creative being. I’m looking forward to what the new year will bring and I thank you all for supporting and experiencing this wonderful year with me.

I recently wrote about a couple of the Guess Capsule Collection pieces that were released and here I’m pairing the t-shirt with my favorite black moto jacket from Forever 21 Men. Tucked in, and topped off with my matte denim and white low tops from Topman, this look has me feeling casual cool, grateful and blessed, and excited for what the new year has in store for me. Thank god it’s finally cold in LA, the winter layers are giving me life.

Hi friends,

The election has ended and Donald Trump is officially the president of the United States. I’m sure a lot of you out there are frustrated, angry, confused, or some of you might be beaming with excitement. Either way we must unite as a country together and lead by love and example. I just wanna send some major love vibes to the LGBTQ+, women, muslims, disabled people, immigrants and anybody else that has been affected negatively by this campaign and just want to remind us all that the bullies will always be around and will never give up. We have come this far, and this is not the end, but another opportunity for us to come together as a kingdom of unapologetic pride and love. We stand together, unite, and fight back. Be you, lift your head up, have hope, and live in the moment. We’re all in this together and we’ve come a long way already. Love will prevail, and we can do this together. I love you all so much and here’s me telling you I’m here for you and I’ll hope you’ll be here for me as well. There’s no time like today. And with that said, let my new playlist be a remedy for you to enjoy the rest of your day and week. This playlist is jam packed with so many new finds from some new and old favorites including my current girlcrush Dua Lipa, Tove Lo, MAX, Ben Khan, Kiiara and SOHN. Leave This Place by LIONE has literally been on unhealthy amounts of replay this week…pretty sure i’ve listened to it’s magicality about 50 times + already. Enjoy.

A million kisses to you.

Fall in LA obvs ain’t as extreme as fall in Montana or New York. However it does have it’s bi-polar weeks. Hot one day, cold af the next, the weather just can’t make up it’s mind which does quite a number on my skin. I tend to change my skin care lines throughout the seasons not only because your skin, which is made up of keratin like your hair and nails, builds a tolerance to the same products over time.

Guise Etiquette is my Fall and Winter answer for what my skin needs most rn. It’s paraben, chemical, sulfate, mineral oil, and synthetic dye free. The founder Ada Trinh wanted to handcraft a high quality grooming line in small batches using plant-based ingredients sourced from organic ingredients from organic urban farms across California, New Mexico, and Arizona. The producers are infused with minerals, oils and vitamins hand-selected by the team members of Guise Etiquette. Did I mention that the collection is cruelty free, chemical free and hypoallergenic? ILY Guise Etiquette.

Made all natural with Cucumber and Mint to remove oil and dirt deep down. Great for sensitive skin and the Aloe Vera and Chamomile help to leave the face fresh af without that over-dried leathery look. This intoxicating elixir helps eliminate blackheads, reduce acne, tones skin, helps with redness and helps eliminate age spots. The anti-aging ingredients help reduce fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes.

I’ve heard a lot about Colloidal Silver and all it’s benefits so I was so V excited when I saw that GE had combined it with Neroli Oil to help fight razor burn, bumps and minimize the look of scars and acne scars as well. The Colloidal Silver helps repair damaged skin and inflammation, regenerates skin cells after each shave, while the Neroli Oil balances skin’s moisture level.

This lightweight oil-free moisturizer is plant derived with Aloe Vera and Aspen Bark keeping skin silky smooth and hydrated throughout the day. The formula is so light, it’s designed to penetrate and quickly absorb into the man’s thicker skin so you’ve still got touchable skin without the high gloss and greasy residue.

Hope everyone’s having a chic week so far. Halloween is upon us. After typing that I now regret not adding anything to spooky to this weeks playlist, but regardless these tracks are giving me life rn so naturally I have to share them with you even if they seem to be out of theme. So many fun events the last couple of weeks, can’t wait to share highlights from the prohibition 1940s immersive Smirnoff experience we went to last week celebrating 75 years of the Moscow Mule. Also got to go to my first Halloween party of the year for Aston Models, the squad and I went as Power Rangers. For now, enjoy this new playlist lovers.

Mark your calendars for November 1st cause the full version will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music and everywhere else. Produced by Johnny James and Mantra. I hope you enjoy this preview as much as I do. A thousand kisses 4 U.

So I got a chance to drop by the opening of my friend Markus Molinari’s new H.Wood Group spot in West Hollywood last week and I simply have to say it is my new home away from home. I mean, can I just live there? You’ll find yourself stepping into a magical art deco haven, a hot tub time machine if you wil, taking you back to 1920’s extravaganza…think The Great Gatsby. I only had time to drop by for a delicious Old Fashion, but the food looks divine and the rest of the cocktails all the pretty people were carrying around had me wanting more. There’s even a cocktail with a full on rose floating in it. Chic af x 1000. I live for the fireplace. It’s like the warm and cozy heartbeat that flickers in the center of it all. And the live band that plays reminds me of Ricky Ricardo’s band from “I Love Lucy” with a modern day flare and edge. Check out the menu courtesy of Urban Daddy. I’ll def be going back for the cedar plank salmon, baby back ribs, the greek inspired iceberg wedge (love a good wedge), spaghetti squash pasta and filet mignon (obvs). Hey there Delilah, ILY.
